While on the phone with a wedding venue, Desi, tries to negotiate. They drop him from the reservation list. With two weeks away from the wedding, Melanie his bride to be, suggests using Desi’s father’s church. After some hesitation, he gives in and calls his father. Desi goes to the church to meet with Jarrod Banks. Desi reveals he only wants the church and does not want Jarrod at the wedding. He still holds resentment toward Jarrod for how he treated his late mother, Sherry. Jarrod denies his son’s request.
Desi returns home to find Melanie hanging out with his siblings Sam and Eve. He explains what happened at the church which leads to an argument between him and his family. In anger, he pushes everyone away. Desi tries to reach out to Melanie who doesn’t return his phone calls. Jarrod arrives at the house to tell him that he won’t be at the wedding but will allow him to use the church. He gives Desi a picture of Sherry which triggers vivid memories of him and her talking on the family porch. With a reminder of his love for family, he returns to the church and reconciles with Jarrod. At the wedding, Melanie and Desi are married with Jarrod officiating.
