Synopsis
In the wake of China's White Paper Movement in November 2022, a brave woman used a blank sheet as a powerful symbol of protest to escape government oppression. The short film “起来!” ARISE! explores resilience and determination in the face of oppression, celebrates the power of collective and independent struggles for freedom, and captures the sociopolitical tensions in mainland China today.
