Synopsis
Photographic realist Chuck Close gets an up-close-and-personal treatment in this documentary that discusses Close's artistic vision and method, as well as his "close call" recovery from a spinal blood clot that almost ended his career. After suffering a debilitating seizure, Close -- the creator of groundbreaking, oversized portraits -- overcame his paralysis and continued his art. Avant-garde composer Philip Glass provides the soundtrack.
