Synopsis
'Marie André's Flight' tells a true, intense, and urgent story: a race against time to save the life of a 6-month-old baby.

On June 21, 2025, Marie André, suffering from a serious congenital heart disease, leaves her hometown accompanied by her mother with only one hope: to receive the treatment she needs to live. A long and delicate journey, made possible thanks to the solidarity and support of the "Movimento per la Salute dei Giovani" Association, which, together with the medical team, took on a crucial human and health challenge.

Upon arrival in Palermo, Marie André faces one of the most difficult trials of her young life. At the "Centro di Diagnosi e Cura delle Cardiopatie Congenite – Giancarlo Rastelli" (Diagnosis and Treatment Center for Congenital Heart Diseases – Giancarlo Rastelli) at Palermo Civic Hospital, she undergoes a complex cardiac surgery, successfully performed by the doctors directed by Professor Iorio Fiore. It is an operation that traces a delicate line between fragility and rebirth. The documentary closely follows the little girl's clinical and emotional journey, intertwining medicine, professionalism, solidarity, and faith, to recount the silent work of those who commit themselves every day to the lives of others.

About a month after her surgery, Marie André returned to Africa in good health, with a healed heart and a new chance for the future. "Marie André's Flight" is a testimony of concrete hope, where care becomes an act of love and life triumphs over time.
