Before horsepower was a number, it had a heartbeat. Inspired by the Cheonma of ancient Silla, a legendary horse awakens from cultural memory and runs again.


Inspired by the Cheonma (Heavenly Horse) imagery of ancient Silla, 1 HORSEPOWER traces a journey from cultural memory to living motion. Through breath, muscle, hoofbeats, and a full gallop, the film returns “horsepower” to its original source: the horse itself. Accompanied by a cinematic reinterpretation of the traditional Korean melody Arirang, the film celebrates strength, freedom, and the enduring bond between horses and humanity.
