Synopsis
I Was 12 is an autobiographical AI-generated music video and experimental short film about childhood abuse, survivor silencing, and the erasure of truth by power, shame, and denial.
Rooted in the lived experience of a woman who survived childhood abuse and grew up with the fear of disappearance in Rome, Italy, the film transforms personal memory into a wider act of witness. It also stands as a memorial for Jeffrey Epstein’s victims and for all children and adults whose reality has been denied, minimized, or made unspeakable.
At its center is one sentence: “I was twelve.” Not as confession, but as evidence.
Through a fragile cinematic waltz, haunted elegance, symbolic distortion, and AI-generated visual storytelling, I Was 12 refuses the spectacle of pain and turns silence into image, rhythm, dignity, and presence.
