“SURVIVING – Memoirs of the Future” is a film of speculative archaeology. The film stages the silent invasion of a higher alien civilization in Lombardy — not as science fiction, but as an inevitable destiny, a “sack of Milan” in which territory, memory, bodies and imagination are progressively occupied, emptied and rewritten.

Ayerle, pioneer of artificial intelligence, transforms an award-winning imagery (ExperimentoBio, MEM Festival Bilbao), born in Milan and Bergamo, bending it to glitches and visions generated by AI.

The result is fragile audiovisual artifacts, yes, but full of an epic banality, a desperate love and a tragic imperfection.

When Ayerle's photographic electrocutions for this dystopian cycle saw the light in 2017, they appeared to most as the erratic delirium of a heretical artist, untied from all custom.

Institutional consecration then took inexorable vigor from 2020 onwards, when the pandemic ripped open the veil, revealing to the world that the impossible could become tangible reality. In our 2026 the surreal glitch appears as the last possible form of truth of a world that has lost all sense of reality.
