𝙒𝙚𝙣𝙙𝙮: 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗶𝘅 𝗯𝘆 𝗠𝗮𝗼 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗗𝗲𝗹𝘁𝗮 𝗩, 𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗰 𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗼, 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗮𝘁𝗺𝗼𝘀𝗽𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲𝘀

Italian singer-songwriter 𝗠𝗮𝗼 delivers the brand new remix of 𝙒𝙚𝙣𝙙𝙮, a track by the Italian band 𝗗𝗲𝗹𝘁𝗮 𝗩, taken from the album 𝙄𝙣 𝙛𝙖𝙩𝙩𝙞 𝙤𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙡𝙞, the band’s latest release, issued by Universal and warmly received by critics.

The collaboration between Delta V and Mao is part of an artistic relationship built up over time, which across the years has found new opportunities for encounter and continuity. During the tour supporting 𝘐𝘯 𝘧𝘢𝘵𝘵𝘪 𝘰𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘭𝘪, Mao served as the opening act at the band’s concerts, sharing the stage and helping to renew a musical dialogue that had been active since the 1990s.

The connection between the two projects marks the meeting of two landmark names on the Italian alternative scene: on one side Delta V, recognised for their elegant and intimate sonic explorations, and on the other Mao, a singer-songwriter and versatile artist among the leading figures of the golden age of MTV Italy and of Italian alternative culture between the 1990s and the 2000s.

The artistic bond indeed traces its roots back to that very period, beginning with their collaboration on the track 𝘓𝘢 𝘮𝘪𝘢 𝘤𝘰𝘴𝘢, featured on the Milan-based band’s album 𝘗𝘴𝘺𝘤𝘩𝘰𝘣𝘦𝘢𝘵, for which Mao wrote and performed the lyrics. To this is added his appearance in the music video for 𝘭𝘭 𝘱𝘳𝘪𝘮𝘰 𝘨𝘪𝘰𝘳𝘯𝘰 𝘥𝘦𝘭 𝘮𝘰𝘯𝘥𝘰, a special guest role alongside Angela Baraldi and Garbo, which helped to cement a creative bond destined to resurface over time.

In this new chapter, Mao reinterprets 𝘞𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘺, transforming it into a remix with an electronic, cinematic edge, in which the track’s original structure is reworked into a more rarefied, nocturnal dimension, with a strong emphasis on the evocative quality of the sound. The result is a version that leaves Delta V’s songwriting intact while projecting it into a more abstract and visual soundscape, in keeping with the artistic vision of the Turin-based singer-songwriter.

The project is rounded off by an official music video directed by 𝗡𝗶𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗮𝘀 𝗙𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗹𝗲𝘁, a filmmaker originally from Brussels and based in Montreal, shot in Tokyo, which amplifies the visual dimension of the track by building an imaginary world suspended between urban life, movement and emotional perception.

Meanwhile, as Delta V are busy with the summer tour for 𝘐𝘯 𝘧𝘢𝘵𝘵𝘪 𝘰𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘭𝘪, Mao continues work on his new album, already partly previewed during the dates on which he opened for the band.

The remix of 𝘞𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘺, out on 31 July 2026, is the final chapter in the project reinterpreting Delta V’s latest record, and accompanies the release, on the same day, of 𝙄𝙣 𝙛𝙖𝙩𝙩𝙞 𝙤𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙡𝙞 𝙍𝙈𝙓, a complete reworking through the interpretations of artists and producers from the Italian alternative scene, offering a fresh sonic perspective on the record’s tracks.
