This visually stunning art house horror film, The Ethereal, presents a visceral and dreamlike descent into a suburban nightmare.
The story follows a young family—Eden, the Writer, and their two children—whose lives take a disturbing turn after moving into an old house in New Orleans. What begins as a hopeful fresh start, complete with the promise of a new guard dog named Bandit, quickly unravels into a series of inexplicable and terrifying events.
The Writer finds himself trapped in a loop of unsettling occurrences: cryptic notes appearing in the kitchen, a window that won't stay closed, and a sense of a malevolent presence lurking in the shadows. As the days blur together, the boundaries between reality and a distorted, neon-drenched hallucinations dissolve.
The Ethereal is a haunting exploration of family, grief, and the lingering echoes of the past, all set against the backdrop of a house that seems to have a mind—and a hunger—of its own. Featuring Mark Torgl (The Original Toxic Avenger) and Kevin Mangold (Slimer) from (Ghostbusters Frozen Empire).
