WOMAN ON ROPE is a poetic and visually immersive short film in which a woman’s ascent along a rope becomes a cinematic metaphor for the unfinished struggle for women’s rights.

As she climbs through fragments of collective female memory, voices emerge from different eras and geographies — from Seneca Falls to Afghanistan, from New Zealand to the Democratic Republic of Congo — weaving together testimonies, speeches and historical echoes into a living cinematic journey.

Directed by Aurélia Khazan and conceived by UNESCO Artist for Peace Guila Clara Kessous, the film blends performance, archival voices and symbolic visual language to create a sensory meditation on resilience, transmission and emancipation.
