After his father kills the one person who made him feel normal, Casimir is left kneeling in the aftermath. Born with all eight Preter abilities and raised by his father, Eric, to believe that power exists to reshape the world, Casimir has spent his life fighting against the anger and violence Eric instilled in him.

When Eric insists that Casimir’s compassion is weakness, grief erupts into a brutal confrontation between father and son. Their battle becomes more than a fight for survival; it becomes a struggle over identity, morality, and what it truly means to be a hero.

As Eric pushes him physically and psychologically, Casimir insists that he only wants to help people. But when his father forces him to answer what he truly needs, Casimir is confronted with a darker truth: beneath his desire to protect the world lies a need for control.

Adapted from Cameron Hudson’s novel Hero: A Villain’s Origin, Control Is Power is a standalone science-fiction drama and cinematic proof of concept exploring inherited violence, father-son conflict, power, and the frightening distance between becoming a hero and becoming the thing you hate.
