EXTENDED SYNOPSIS:After leaving a nightclub, Andrea—a shy, awkward young man—walks his girlfriend, Sofia, home. Left alone to walk through the city streets toward his own home, and feeling frightened, he accepts a ride from a charming, mysterious young man who calls himself "Ichi." Ichi drives Andrea home, but his polite mannerisms seem increasingly bizarre. Andrea thanks him and reflects on how distrustful and violent human beings can be toward one another, and on how reason and dialogue can dispel fear and prevent one from succumbing to raw survival instinct. Just as Andrea is about to leave, Ichi confesses that he had been on the verge of killing him but had held back after hearing Andrea’s words. Ichi speeds away, leaving a shaken Andrea to head toward his building's entrance. As he opens the door, a woman carrying a cradle appears beside him. Terrified, Andrea stares at the cradle, inside which a snake is slithering.
