Synopsis
A Short psychological drama mirrors the plot of a Šumava legend that inspired the ballad The Spectre’s Bride by K. J. Erben. A group of classmates spend a fall weekend at a cottage in Velhartice. Jerry returns from Erasmus in Berlin, bringing along a charismatic German, Charlie, who is fascinated by Czech culture and the local village. At the cottage, Jerry is met by Žofka, with whom he had a complicated relationship before he left. Žofka was looking forward to his return, but Jerry now behaves very coldly and distant. Tension between them grows and Žofka refuses to accept the change.
Charlie takes notice of their conflict and comforts Žofka at first, but gradually attempts to obsessively get closer to her. Despite a growing chemistry between them, Žofka rejects him and continues to wait for Jerry. A love triangle forms. The story escalates at a party in a pub, where Jerry gets close with Bára. Žofka loses all patience and under influence accepts Charlie’s attention.

Boosted Charlie talks about Velhartice cemetery and suggests a night adventure. At the cemetery, his obsession crosses a line of consent. Žofka manages to defend herself and takes shelter in a morgue. Its door slum shut. Charlie promises that he will get her out. Žofka will however never see him again. She waited too long.
