Synopsis
As a filmmaker, I have always been fascinated by the threshold where the biological meets the mechanical. This short film is an attempt to map that intersection—not through a traditional narrative, but through a sensory "overload" that mirrors the disorienting beauty of synesthesia in flux. Suspended in the liminality of being between spaces, the piece explores a fragile equilibrium between movement and stillness, body and machine. Here, a singular, protracted ride on an endless escalator transforms into an act as deeply contemplative as it is bound to the mechanics of time itself—a time-based focus that stretches duration into physical texture. Courtesy of an extreme close-up from my ophthalmologist, paired with moving signage and the hypnotic rhythm of transit, the film invites a state of perceptual drift. Some viewers may feel a bit woozy or off-kilter, and that is entirely by design; if you have ever navigated inner-ear syndrome or the surrealist collisions of "the exquisite corpse," you are just getting started. Score by Yair Etziony.
