This film records the arrival of the Governor General of Canada, the Earl of Minto, accompanied by the Countess of Minto and their household, as they cross the river in ice canoes. Upon reaching the Quebec side, the canoes encounter a wide ledge of ice extending from the wharf, over which blanket-clad snowshoers haul the Governor, his wife, and their guests.
