La Transazione ( The Transaction) is a short film about immigration produced by Logan Rando and written and directed by Lora Lee Ecobelli. Set in 1910 in Ellis Island, it follows three Italian sisters who travel to America for arranged marriages. The film uses no dialogue and is in black and white. Powerful performances and a evocative musical score by award winning composers Ellen and Roger Bruno set the tone for this compelling tale that deeply parallels the current immigration crisis.
