Matahan unfolds in a poetic, symbolic, and surreal world—without borders, without time, and without words.



Using symbols, silence, color, and sound, the film paints a visual journey from birth to death. The sun and the moon become parents; the Sophia tree and other central and secondary characters carry five decades of the filmmaker’s life; and the four natural elements—water, air, fire, and earth—reflect the events that have shaped her life.



Matahan is a visual meditation on identity, transformation, and the memories that remain within us, silently.
