Aleksander Laime, romanticist and dreamer at heart, went deep into the jungle of Venezuela in search of Jimmy Angel’s famed ‘Diamond River’. While it was never publicized if he succeeded in his search, residents of Canaima still refer to him as their ancestors once named him – ‘The King of Diamonds’. Through gaining trust, Laime was to see something no other man had ever seen, but was forbidden from entering the place ever again.

It Is Something Invisible

The work for this video began by using an hd camera to collect images of trees using a method involving spinning a camera around in the woods for as long as the body could tolerate (60-90 seconds), and then layering and extending the raw footage in the editing suite. One way to think about the film is of a camera gathering small fragments of time from a forest that exists in larger periods of time, and stretching these moments into something more appropriate to what the trees would experience.

(Comprehensive Suicide Attention Program), a woman expresses her decision to take her life. Through her performative actions, she forces us to accompany her on this purpose-built journey to formulate questions and dispel myths about suicide. Is it a creation? It's spread? Is it a mental health problem or is it a social problem?

Nothing is left to tell

Nothing is Left to Tell is the title of both a film and social experiment. In the summer of 2010, Almborg and a group of eleven strangers of varying ages and backgrounds traveled to a small, uninhabited island off the coast of Sweden. Their mission was to collaboratively build a wooden structure without plans or blueprints and while on the island they would not communicate using spoken or written language. Three individuals in the group were responsible for documenting the process, however, their task was similarly governed by rules: they could film no more than 30 minutes of activity per day. The resulting film explores the limits of language and the relationship between communication and community.
