3 found fragments, perfect as found. Fragment 1 appears to be reversal camera original and was found in the bottom of a trim bin of uncertain provenance at the University of Florida sometime in the mid-2000s. Fragment 2, discovered as the sole content of a 1200' can labeled "What is a Cop?" is a Levi's commercial distressed only by the forces of nature (bacteria? mold and mildew?). Fragment 3 is one of a series of vignettes from "Assertive Training for Women, Part 2," purchased from the College of San Scholastica in Duluth, MN for the princely sum of $1.

Kabelbel follows a group of villagers as they are taught the art of canoe making and seafaring by clan elders. Shot entirely on the remote island of Masahet in Papua New Guinea’s New Ireland Province, Kabelbel captures the daily rhythm of contemporary village life and reveals with great nuance the importance of custom and tradition in a changing world.

"Gather + Listen" is an animation that focuses on the subtle movements and rhythms that unconsciously happen at an owambe, a Nigerian street party. As people come together in joy, their hearts begin to beat to the same rhythm, as if united in happiness.

In a warehouse, the remains of an abandoned mural are found. A broken mirror of collective memory, a puzzle to be reconstructed so that the university and society can recover their history. Because nothing is ever completely erased or rebuilt, but it does become transparent when the "Notes of Memory" are recovered. From PBS - The dome that crowns Florence's great cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore -- the Duomo -- is a masterpiece of Renaissance ingenuity and an enduring source of mystery. Still the largest masonry dome on earth, it is taller than the Statue of Liberty and weighs as much as an average cruise ship. Historians and engineers have long debated how its architect, Filippo Brunelleschi, kept the dome perfectly aligned and symmetrical as the sides rose and converged toward the center. More than four million bricks could collapse at any moment -- and we still don't understand how Brunelleschi prevented it. To test the latest theories, a team of U.S. bricklayers will help build an experimental "mini-Duomo" using period tools and techniques.

In 1992, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art put on the first major museum retrospective of the work of Jeff Koons, who, at a boyish 37, was already an art-world sensation. His series “Made in Heaven,” a set of photorealist paintings depicting himself and his wife Ilona Staller—a famous porn star—in various acrobatic coital poses, had premiered the past year to enormous controversy, and his collected body of work, with its heavy use of readymades and its assembly-line style production methods, was already inspiring a question that continues to stoke debate: is Koons a canny media critic, or a cynical market-reader trading in repurposed junk? Roger Teich’s compelling, keen-eyed short documentary, filmed at and around the exhibit, leaves that question tantalizingly open. The result is a multi-sided portrait of a man whose work continues to raise difficult, probing questions about the role of the artist in society.
