In this expressionistic film, VHS footage has been projected and refilmed several times with different cameras until it breaks down and takes on a fluid quality, reminiscent of watercolour or ink, to create a unique and hypnotic image.

In the Gilded Age and beyond, high fashion decreed that violets were the flower of choice for Valentine's Day, Easter, and a fragrant corsage. At its height, in the years before World War I, Rhinebeck, New York, growers shipped millions of sweet violets (viola odorata) to New York City, Philadelphia, Boston, Chicago and beyond.

Eight films to music, music-to-poetry, and poetry. The film takes its title from the first shot, a single take set to Fauré's setting of "Au bord de l'eau" by René-François Sully-Prudhomme. The image shows a tree in bloom near a stream, during an extraordinarily long warm streak in February, a dream of spring in the middle of winter outside Chicago. A false spring that doomed the exuberant tree's fruit.

Academy Tianjin (2012) is a silent, 52-minute video that documents a visit to the seemingly abandoned Tianjin Academy of Fine Art, China. The video is shot with a camera mounted on a Steadicam to produce an ethereal and disquieting view of the empty halls and studios. Littering the scene are abandoned paintings and drawings made in the tradition of Western figurative art.
