Ephemeral encounters recorded during a walk beneath the elevated tracks of the No. 7 subway line in New York City.

A family's place in the wilderness, outside of time; free-range animals and children, junk and nature, all within the most sublime landscape. The work aims at an idea of freedom, which is reflected in the hand-processed Scope format, but is undercut with a sense of foreboding. There's no particular story; beginning, middle or end, just fragments of lives lived, rituals performed.

David Attenborough's entertaining romp through the world of monkeys has a serious side: for when we look at monkeys we can see ourselves. From memory to morality, from 'crying wolf' to politics, monkeys are our basic blueprint. Pygmy marmosets 'farm' tree sap; bearded capuchins in Brazil develop a production line for extracting palm nuts; white-faced capuchins in Costa Rica tenderly nurse the victims of battle; and in the Ethiopian highlands, a deposed gelada baboon has got the blues.

School of Thought is a mysterious and amazing documentary about the Maharishi School of the Age of Enlightenment in Fairfield, Iowa, with David Lynch (Blue Velvet, Twin Peaks and The Elephant Man). David brings a few friends along to Fairfield, including folk-musician Donovan (Mellow Yellow, Hurdy Gurdy Man and Sunshine Superman) and the world-renowned quantum physicist John Hagelin (featured in What The Bleep Do We Know!?).

Released in 2008, The Grand Tour presents Dwight Yoakam's live performance at the Peterborough Country Music Festival, England, in 1986. While showcasing Dwight's signature showmanship and vocals, the poor mix quality renders some instruments, such as Pete Anderson's guitar, barely audible. The release is named after the track The Grand Tour, which became a #1 hit for George Jones in 1974.

in complete world is a feature-length documentary made up of street interviews done throughout NYC. Mixing political questions (Are we responsible for the government we get?) with more broadly existential ones (Do you feel you have control over your life?), the film centers on the tension between individual and collective responsibility. The film can be seen as a user's manual for citizenship in the 21st century, as well as a glimpse into the opinions and self-perceptions of a diverse group of Americans. It is a testament to the people of NYC in this new millennium, who freely offer up thoughtful, provocative and at times tender revelations to a complete stranger, just because she asked.

Laban and Bus are playing soccer. Laban is the goalkeeper. A hard shot from Bus flies past Laban and into the darkest tower. Ouch! Laban has to retrieve it. He is so afraid of the dark. Inside the tower, something whizzes by and Laban lets out a terrible scream as he rushes out. On his head is a small furry bundle. Bus carefully removes it and places the little tangled bundle in Laban's hands. It slowly unfolds itself. It's a baby bat! Taking care of a little bat isn't so easy; no matter what they do, the little creature doesn't look very happy. But then they come up with something they have to try, even though it means staying out in the middle of the night.

Caribou is an 11 minute science fiction experimental portrait of Saskatchewan. Structurally it is a journey from the forests of northern Saskatchewan to the Badlands in the south. It is the final part in a series of North American landscape films and videos that I have been shooting for the past few years. Caribou is essentially a video about mortality, death, decay, notions of beauty, and a respect for the natural world. It is grounded in the detail of our surroundings, and the beauty that resonates from these hidden places.

In 2003, Sakia Gunn was fatally stabbed in a gay hate crime in Newark, New Jersey. She was fifteen years old and called herself an Aggressive, an homosexual woman of color who dresses in masculine attire but does not necessarily identify as either lesbian or female-to-male transgender. Dreams Deferred depicts the homophobia that caused her untimely death and questions the lack of national media coverage of the murder of a Black Gay youth.

The video image of distorted areas~ proceeds from an aesthetic which runs counter to the logic of having a specific purpose, disturbing it at the most. In other words, this logic involves the usefulness of information-technology tools, in this case a software module used for implementing certain rendering effects in 3D computer graphics. It is intentionally used in a way opposite its intended function, putting the "meaningful" graphic 3D image into a completely irregular, dislocated black or white plane with "meaninglessly" oscillating lines and patterns. The sound is similar: Noises produced by feedback and an effector are interwoven with the image formations in a disordered and asignificant manner. The video is the product of perverted circumstances of representation, but what we see and hear, what "are" sound and picture, is distortion as such. This could also be regarded as beauty produced by decay. (Marc Ries)

From the peaceful shores of Hawaii to the canopy jungles of Vietnam, Between the Lines excavates the surfing cultures response to an extraordinary circumstance.
