A single gal venturing into a bar finds a groove all on her own.

Trailer narrates the elaborate fiction of a young man—perplexingly named Alfgar Dalio--who unexpectedly discovers the story of his birth parents while visiting a rundown movie theater in Ohio. In the movie "trailer," he hears the bizarre tale of two long-lost cinema stars stranded by plane wreck in the jungle, and realizes he shares a name with an obscure, now-extinct Amazonian moth. Intuiting that this link holds the key to his origins, Alfgar must navigate a slippery, revelatory, and almost magical realism in which his own truth is both excavated and explored.

Rooted in tradition, adoption is a reality that all Inuit families have experienced. In Inuit culture, adopting a child from a relative, friend or acquaintance is a common practice. Marie-Hélène Cousineau, the adoptive mother of Alexandre Apak, lived in Igloolik, a small island southwest of Baffin Island in the Arctic, for many years. This documentary, which she directed in collaboration with Mary Kunuk (an old friend and colleague), explores Inuit family relations through the personal histories of women who have experienced adoption in one way or another. In a parallel thread, the film documents the creation of an intricate felt wall-hanging that depicts key moments from their lives. All skilled seamstresses, these women of Igloolik use fabric to draw, cut, and embroider their personal life stories – an intimate portrait of family ties and a vibrant illustration of the role adoption has always played in Inuit culture

Manufactured items are ideas materialized. Vat, created from hundreds of actual objects performs a reversal: the artifacts emerge from all primal chaos into their ideal forms. The objects rotate continuously (the equivalent of an arcing camera), opening to reveal new spaces; as level upon level of impossible forms unfold. For the soundtrack, a recording of the ocean was literally played through all the strings of a baby grand piano. Banjo-Threeie is my take on the Banjo-Kazooie series. This movie takes place after the events from the Banjo-Tooie game. Those who follow the series will definitely like and understand the movie more. I did this movie cause no one has really done a Banjo-Kazooie parody before plus I love the series and wish they'd continue on the old story timeline; not redo it like in Grunty's Revenge. This is my version of how I thought the actual game would one day be done with pokes here and there. I'd like to thank everyone who was in it, cause there would be no movie without you guys. Sex and loneliness in the life of a married man.

Arguably the best of the bunch is John Scofield's Live 3 Ways, which finds the guitarist in three different contexts: a trio with Don Pullen on organ and Marvin "Smitty Smith on drums; a duo with pianist Dr. John; and his touring quartet of the time, featuring saxophonist Joe Lovano, bassist Anthony Cox and drummer John Reilly. The only shame about the DVD is that it is so short — at only 50 minutes, with 13 given to the trio, 9 to the duo and the remaining 28 to the quartet. Still, with performances this strong we should be thankful for what we get.

Oleg Menshikov is one of the most unsolved actors in both cinema and theater. A trail of rumors and opinions accompanies each of his new work. There are many more people who have heard about his theatrical works than those who were lucky enough to see them. Some people adore him and others do not forgive the slightest mistakes. Pyotr Shepotinnik was lucky enough to be admitted to the creative laboratory of actor and director Menshikov and freely observe how film roles and stage productions are created — the performances of Griboyedov's "Woe from Wit" and Gogol's "Players", which had a noisy fame.
