"Like a world seen in sleep - a paradox of wakefulness and delirium, part lucid dream, part sunshine through sleep-heavy lids - the treated footage in Solomon Nagler's perhaps/We follows a cycle, with motifs of the ever-present twilight in a steel-blue Warsaw set against what could be (but probably isn't) archive footage, of an old woman asleep on a day-bed and an overgrown, forgotten Jewish Cemetery. In God We Trust, Inc. - The Lost Tapes the videotaping of the Dead Kennedys' first recording session for their EP, In God We Trust Inc. It was released in July 2003. The session was filmed in June 1981 by Eric Goodfield for a part of a punk documentary he was making. When the DKs went to master the tape, it started to peel and deteriorate, so they had to record it again (that session took place in August and was used for the EP). The tape was in Goodfield's collection until the DKs asked him if he would release the video as part of their 25th anniversary. It includes live versions of all the songs except "Hyperactive Child", for which no live footage could be found.

This twenty-two minute interview with Melvin Van Peebles has the cult filmmaker starting things off by lighting a cigar, which is something he has done in several interviews. From here he talks about the making of his hit film SWEET SWEETBACK'S BAADASSSSS SONG, which of course broke all sorts of records and is what would kick start the blaxploitation genre. If you're a fan of the film or the director then you should enjoy this featurette, which tries to have a raw look like the film in question, although the effect here is a bit lame. With that said, there are still some very good stories told including one about a STD Van Peebles got during one of the scenes in the film. He talks about a few specific scenes in the picture as well as the now infamous one featuring his son in a sex scene. There's nothing ground-breaking here but it's certainly an entertaining interview.

A digital manipulation exploiting the transcoding ‘mosaic’ of video shot on a train journey from Berlin to southern Germany with Mark Webber. Transformations of selected sequences, - slowed, recolored, compared. New rhythms - slow thoughts inside a train at speed – blurred and fragmented landscape through the window. The sound is produced by frequency manipulation of the train recorded with the video.

From 1975 to 1979, the Khmer Rouge led a campaign of death against every Cambodian believed to be educated. As a result, over 90 percent of the country's traditional musicians were killed. Now, as the handful of surviving musicians grow old and fall ill, a way of life quietly slips toward the brink of extinction. Looking into the life of 30-year old Choegatar, father and provider, we get a glance into a world where temptations of the town interfere with natural life. This is an honest portrayal of life, shown with an unrivaled backdrop of beauty.

Five individuals meet by coincidence in a random diner at the same time, without knowing they all affected each other's lives the night before. The multiple story-line follows a gay father trying to re-connect with his estranged son, a woman in desperate need of a drug fix and her dealer who accidentally shoots the wife of a young man, and a woman trying to escape an abusive marriage.

Heartbeat/Armpit (2003) is a looped digital video just under two and a half minutes long and with no sound, a rare format in Tillmans’s artistic world. At first glance, this piece with its stringent composition and seeming calm seems to resemble a photograph. What we see is a cropped section of an angled overhead shot of a young man lying bare chested on a carpet.On closer inspection minimal movements can be discerned within this harmonious composition. These minute movements attest to the fact that he is alive: we intuit his breath and heartbeat from the fact that his chest rises and falls gently, and the artery in his neck pulsates.
