Dwelling follows the dramatic slow and solemn flight patterns of roaring miniaturized Boeings, Airbuses, Concordes, jet planes, and commuter aircrafts as if documenting chaotic airport traffic. Using grainy black and white footage, Sawa’s video is as mysterious and evocative as it is comical. Set entirely in Sawa’s apartment, the work addresses notions of displacement and melancholy, and was completed while he was a graduate student at the Slade School of Fine Art in London.

An animation based on reality. Maomao lives in an era when Coca-Cola is deeply rooted in people's hearts. This drink is not just a drink here. Behind it is the powerful economic and cultural background of the West. It represents the characteristics of this era very well. The materials of the "Beijing City" she built herself include old tiles from old houses that are about to be demolished, as well as scattered small toys, Chinese lucky cats and foreign "Garfield" that is well-known in China, many Coke cans, and Erguotou bottles, which represent the preferences of a specific group in China, and this is a large group. Maomao's summer records the development of the times, the growth of the city of Beijing, and the changes in people's perspectives in this era that are unconsciously and involuntarily changing.

Shot on a small island above the artic circle, this one minute film uncovers an unreal landscape. Each presentation of the film is a new tale. El sueno de una cosa (the dream of a thing) is a game that produces new stories each time it is played; these are the stories of a film in a permanent pre-production stage.

Electric Sheep focuses on a primitive and alluring creature — the octopus — as it performs seemingly impossible feats by compressing its body to squeeze through tight, tubular, transparent spaces. While the depiction of this ocean creature is natural, it seems more suited to the world of science fiction. The dominant sound element is Emmylou Harris’s 1995 version of Neil Young’s song Wrecking Ball.

Baby Beethoven is the 10th Baby Einstein video in the series to be released. It uses musical compositions accompanying footage of toys and other novelty items. As the name suggests, and made as a musical sequel to Baby Shakespeare, the classical music of Baby Beethoven was composed by Ludwig van Beethoven, albeit rearranged with softer instruments by Bill Weisbach.

Tristram Cary was born at Oxford in 1925 to parents immersed in the academic world. He studied music, interrupted by service in the Royal Navy during the Second World War, and was one of the early pioneers of tape recording music. During the 1950’s he was one of the few composers at the cutting edge of electronic music. In 1963, he provided the perfect musical complement to Terry Nation’s script for The Mutants – his abrasive, searing score brought the Dalek’s world to life and played a large part in the success of Doctor Who. Here, in a rare interview, Tristram tells us about those early days working in electronic music and the other Doctor Who scores he worked on. And Tristram also reveals the highlights of a career that’s included major concert works, plus film, television, radio and books. Over fifty years of creative endeavour, including a move to teaching music in Adelaide, Australia in the 1970’s. An amazing man with an amazing talent…

Julie Caitlin Brown is an experienced and well-respected character actor based near Los Angeles in the USA. To science fiction fans she is probably best known for her role as Na’Toth in Babylon 5, but she appeared as a guest star in numerous other TV series including B.L. Stryker, Star Trek (both in The Next Generation and Deep Space Nine), JAG, Wolf, Renegade and Sliders… to mention just a few. In this Myth Makers, Nicholas Briggs goes behind-the-scenes with Julie to discuss her roles in Babylon 5 and Star Trek, and he also discovers Julie is an extremely talented stage actor, writer, singer/songwriter and musician… a woman who definitely has more than one string to her bow! Shot on location at the Gallifrey One convention in Los Angeles, this Myth Makers also features tracks from Julie’s two CD’s Sheddin’ my Skin and Struck by Lightening.

In this work, the echo of Chornobyl appears literally as a stage for a "porn film". The main characters are a couple dressed in silver anti-radiation suits, striking erotic poses and imitating sexual intercourse against the backdrop of apocalyptic views of Prypiat. Grey high-rise buildings, abandoned attractions, and the city itself, which by its very appearance excludes hope for any kind of life, resonate with the figures of two lovers who, in their desire to be together, only produce a tragicomic effect of powerlessness.

"Salty" was filmed on location at an old salt mine on the Bulgarian Black Sea Coast, in the outskirts of the city of Burgas, where Daniel Bozhkov grew up. The video shows the artist licking the edge of a large mound of salt, the size of an Egyptian pyramid. Then he tries to dig a hole with his mouth and bury his head in the muddy ground. During the Six-Day War, Israel attacked and nearly sank the USS Liberty belonging to its closest ally, the USA. Thirty-four American servicemen were killed in the two-hour assault by Israeli warplanes and torpedo boats. Israel claimed that the whole affair had been a tragic accident based on mistaken identification of the ship. The American government accepted the explanation. For more than 30 years many people have disbelieved the official explanation but have been unable to rebut it convincingly. Now, Dead in the Water uses startling new evidence to reveal the truth behind the seemingly inexplicable attack.
