Ms. Fukuda

This omnibus of four episodes depicts the daily life of Fukuda and her friends. In "Sunday", Mr Fukuda receives crabs from his parents' house and invites his friends over for a crab casserole. In "Piece", Mr Fukuda breaks his friend's precious teacup. In 'Badminton', Mr Fukuda prepares to move house and his friends come over to play badminton with a racket he once threw away. 'An Ordinary Day', in which a friend comes to visit Ms Fukuda's room and they eat sweets and drink tea together. All of these stories are told in a simple, everyday tone, but the temperature of the communication between Ms Fukuda and her friends slowly and surely warms the feelings of the viewer.

The Lion and the Zebra Make God's Raw Jewels

This film is a hand-painted combination of shapes which suggest, as appropriately colored, jungle, open veldt, horizontals of grasses, shag-shape yellow of lion's mane, the black & white stripes of the zebra, the eyes, the teeth, the tearing open into raw blood-red meat and curve of bone. Nonetheless the film is in no sense an animation work but rather a collection of mostly un-nameable shapes which gather round this recognizable iconography and visually dominate the image which repeats its, thus, ephemeral chase-and-catch increasingly closer, finally obliterating all but the "jewels," the multiple coloring, referred to in the title.

An attempt to constitute a human / machine dialogue. It shows the filmmaker’s blood as seen / heard with the eyes / ears of the machine which is a film projector with optical sound. He affixed his blood onto clear film leader by cutting into the flesh and then pressing the film leader onto the wound. Additionally he had blood taken with a syringe and afterwards dripped it on the film leader. fresh and clotted blood was used.

The Wildest Show in the South: The Angola Prison Rodeo is a 1999 American short documentary film directed by Simeon Soffer. It focuses primarily on the inmates experiences in the rodeo. For a lot of those prisoners, the rodeo seems to be the only thing they have to look forward to. It was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Documentary Short.

The Bats

A bat tells his story. He lives near a Mayan temple in a cave with bats of nine different pitches. His mother cares for him, teaching him to echo for worms. But all is not idyllic: his brother dies learning to fly; not everyone gets along (babies can be attacked by bats of other pitches). After three years, his sexual urge materializes, and he mates with many females. God speaks to him from time to time, giving solace and advice. Drinking water, finding worms, and enjoying sex bring happiness. But extinction may loom for his species, and regardless of his wish to live forever, death does await.
