K'Sai Chivit: Threads of Life documents the ancient art form of Khmer silk weaving and its place in Cambodian society today. For over a thousand years, Cambodian weavers have been producing a variety of elegant silks, however current societal hardships Cambodians face have dramatically hindered this production. Organizations like UNESCO have began to take part in the revitalization of Khmer weaving, and have established training programs across the region to increase job opportunities and economic independence.

Somali filmmaker Soraya Mire knows firsthand about the traditional African practice of female genital mutilation. A 1994 Yorkshire Television Production for Discovery Channel documentary - Hacker Attack, is a well balanced account of the hacker, security, and electronic crime worlds in late 80s and early 90s. It begins by featuring Mark Abene incarcerated in Schuylkill talking about his views on hacking and the story of MoD. Emmanuel Goldstein is displayed throughout the documentary talking about the hacker community during 2600 meetings and on the Off the Hook radio show. Next 'Hacker Attack' turns to the darker side of hacking when we jump into unmarked NYPD surveillance van to track down cloned cellular phones. There is an extensive coverage of credit card fraud, high tech robbery, and industrial espionage. At last we can watch Winn Schwartau and Dan Farmer talk about threats to our financial and military infrastructures. Throughout the documentary, there are snippets of anonymous hackers breaking into various computer systems.

"These Are the Days is about the passing of time. It is a computer animation of falling paper, with a sound-track of people counting. By combining mathematical models of different physical phenomena such as gravity, elasticity and aerodynamics I can create abstracted simulations of natural systems. As well as the formal qualities that are explored in this work, I am interested in other possible readings. The endless flow of paper suggests the meditative space of a waterfall, yet also speaks of consumption and waste. Our lives are documented by a continual stream of paper, from birth and death certificates to supermarket receipts."
