Dimmuborgir are situated in one of Iceland’s most active volcanic zones. The film gives a clear account of the formation of this magnificant citadel of lava. The geology of the area is described and the viewer is brought into contact with its incomparable scenic beauty and birdlife as well as with the great danger facing this jewel in Icelandic landscape.

Fragments of scenes from the lives of men and women who are tormented and bullied appear in this film. Using the film camera as a medium, the film attempts to objectify the never-ending time of their lives, but in fact the actions that unfold here are staged in order to generate a physical voice, and at times it seems that it is the landscape itself that witnesses their actions.

Adrian is a Chinese Australian visiting his Hong Kong girlfriend Ann. The relationship is already in deep trouble because both are suffering from an identity crisis. Adrian is “yellow on the outside but white in the middle.” The solution he thinks is a crash course for Adrian by his uncle on lovemaking techniques using a thousand-year-old Chinese sex manual. Naturally, Adrian's newly acquired skills do not work. The problem, as it turns out, is not that Adrian is “not Chinese enough” but that, according to Ann, he does not know “wonton soup does not exist in Hong Kong.” The young couple's real problem, Law seems to suggest, is that they live in an eclectic and transnational cultural environment yet they are not aware of its implication for their mosaic identities. Wonton Soup is Law's contribution to the omnibus film Erotique, a collaborative effort by four women directors from four continents that bills itself as “women's erotica”.

"This two-part video is a newcomer’s portrait of Montréal. I spent my first winter in Québec in a cold, dark, first floor apartment. I sat in the kitchen beside the electric heater, drinking coffee while watching the electric meter, wondering how I would pay my bills. At night, I looked at the illuminated “Q” on the Hydro Québec building and imagined how much it cost to keep it lit. In the second section, a man looks for meaning in the tile patterns of the Champ-de-Mars metro station. I took his search to an end more absurd than anything I could hope to enact. The moral of these two tales is: “Don’t lose you sense of humour”. It’s from this cliché that the video derives its title." - Nelson Henricks

In the film, the outstanding contemporary avant-garde poet Vladimir Ignatiev, the heir of OBERIUT, appeared. He played himself and read his own poetry. The film was shot 25 years ago soon after Vladimir received a serious craniocerebral injury, received as a result of the bandit attack.
